River Neighbors

We weren't alone floating on a house raft along the River Kwai. Throughout the day, vendors selling fruit, noodle soup, and other snacks would come up alongside our raft trying to make their day's wages. We enjoyed some fresh pomelo and papaya from this woman, and I think she enjoyed watching us play some funny games while she floated next to us.

Along with the food vendors in narrow long boats, large rafts holding mostly white foreigners with life jackets and very few clothes on floated down the river. About an hour later we would see the empty raft being towed back up the river to pick up the next batch of tourists. They were friendly enough and waved to us more the Thais, who just looked at us like we were crazy when we waved to them.
