Reflections old and new

This is the River Aire in Bingley, just before the weir and Ireland Bridge.
The top of All Saints Parish Church can be seen as well as some of the new and old buildings at the river's edge.

It was such a glorious morning that I managed to persuade Chris to do a walk with me. We chose the riverside walk as although I know the early part of the walk, after leaving the woods of St Ives, to be very muddy there was a sharp frost this morning which I hoped would have hardened the ground.

It is nice to do these walks with someone new as they always throw a different perspective on the familiar route. Chris is particularly interested in the more urban parts of the walk, working out where the back gardens and alleys are in relation to the more familiar front views from the street. He also sees the engineering side, noticing culverts and water courses as well as commenting on the good firewood at the side of the path!!

A great day to be out.
