Wellingtonias in Mist

Another day starting grey and misty, but not having managed to blip yesterday I decided to try and leave for work early and stopped by to photograph this path running across the top of my estate.

The Heatherside estate was named in1860 when a Swiss botanist, bought 300 acres of heath land to start a silk farm and nursery. The enterprise however failed and by the 1970's the final parcels of land were sold off for housing.

This path follows the original mile long windbreak planted with the magnificent Wellingtonias which today dwarf users, such as the lone walker disappearing into the mist.
