Robin at large

At the Garden Centre

The sun shone brightly today, even though there was a cold wind. In the sun if felt quite warm, but out of the sun it felt quite cold. Spring may be in the air, but it is biding its time.

There was an art exhibition and sale at the local church. I visited briefly and there were some quite nice paintings. It looked as though a fair amount of business was being done. There were no prices visible, I expect there was a list available on request. Anyway I quickly concluded that it was likely to be out of my price range, so adjourned for brunch in Aboyne.

On the way back to Aberdeen we called in at the Raemoir garden centre where this picture was taken. There was a huge splash of colour, and it was nice to see Spring really is in the air. There was also a large Easter bunny near the entrance. Once Mother's Day is out of the way, I expect they will spend Monday gearing up for Easter.

The god of commerce seems to have successfully taken over both these festivals which were religious in origin. In the case of the church this morning it was itself a place of commerce. I guess there is a return to the pagan gods.
