Des Res in Edinburgh

We had to pop into town for the bank today. I got Roz to stop near Barnton to get some shots of the old Barnton Hotel building. The main building itself is quite nice but for years it had a horrible concrete addition. As you can see from this photo tehy've ripped down the concrete bit to facilitate a sale. There's a chunk of land next to it with planning permission too.

I always thought it looked likean OK hotel but it was too far out of town for the Edinburgh tourist market and I'd imagine it was put out of business by the likes of Travelodge and other cheap hotel brands taking away the travelling salesman/businessman markt which must have made up a large part of it's customer base.
