Shore Explorer

Gordon at Belhaven.

Big Shore.

(EDIT: I originally chose this one of Gordon jumping.)

We went out after school, whilst Katie played at her friends' house, for a cycle and a wander so I could get some fresh air and look around for birds. Species we saw include wigeon, turnstone, curlew, mute swan, black-headed gull, redshank, eider duck, goldeneye, moor hen, heron, gannet (yep, the gannets are at Belhaven), oyster catcher, herring gull, oh... and a load of little brown jobs. The black headed gulls were particularly lovely, they're almost like terns in the light way they fish, flitting above the water and dropping a short distance.

The older lads were at the Mid and East Lothian Badminton Championship which they enjoyed but were "thrashed" (their term!) at doubles and bowed out with slightly more aplomb from the singles. More practice is requested, so we'll have to see what's available locally.

Should have friend Ian over tomorrow, health allowing, so we're all looking forward to that. "Can I read Ian my whole reading book Dad?" "Yes, I'm sure he'll be delighted..."
