Downtown: 2012 challenge - Architecture

I was in the Portland Building this morning for an ensemble performance and remembered from our gig last year that the conference room where we warmed up had this wonderful huge diorama of the city, so I took my camera along in hopes that it was still there, and it is.

It's a fairly intricate piece of work, made out of wood and to scale. It measures about 10 feet long by 8 feet wide (very rough guess!) and it mostly depicts the downtown area, a couple of the bridges, the Willamette River (far left) and Waterfront Park that runs along the river. My house is on the other side of the river.

The color version is here. Look at it large for a treat.
