HC lamp error: low energy

Hectic day at work, didn't even get to have a lunch break...well 5 minutes to eat a banana and avoid Loose Women on the tv (why do people watch that bunch of vacuous, cackling women).
Anyway, I spent a good part of the day trying to get the atomic absorption spectrometer to work despite problem after problem. I managed it in the end though. One of the problems was with the hollow cathode lamp, used to emit light at a specific wavelength that is then absorbed in proportion to the amount of the substance you're looking for in the sample. Science lesson over.

This is a view of the 213.9 nm HC lamp made up of copper, zinc, manganese, and iron. I actually liked the way that the reflection repeats itself in the walls of the lamp.
