The Edge of the Wold

Spring

After what felt like the return of Winter yesterday, today has been a beautiful, warm Spring day. Here we see a bud of a lime tree opening and the heart shaped leaves, which were protected within the bud scales, expanding. Soon the reddish scales will drop and the tree will be in full leaf.

The seasons have an unstoppable momentum to them, and this is most noticeable with Spring where every day brings new flowers opening, leaves unfurling, migrant birds arriving. It is the time of the year that I wish I could slow down, the more to appreciate the fleeting, changing moments.

In the warmth of the afternoon, Reg has been trundling around the garden sampling different plants. Bob and he have been introduced, and Reg was unimpressed and unfazed by Bob's curiosity.

Thank you for the comments and hearts for yesterday's shivery sunset, my apologies that I have not been able to comment much. Today, in the warm and life affirming sunshine, I have felt much better again.
