Saturday on the beach

Sooo we took a jaunt into Brighton today on the train. Charley was fascinated by everything going past so quickly! Arrived midday, quick loo break, and then for the big reason - meeting up with Pooky and Karen and their respective families! My first blipmeet, so exciting to finally get to meet people whose lives I've been following for nearly two years now. Gosh that's a long time...

A lovely afternoon of eating and playing on the beach, chatting and snapping away! And as gorgeous as the girls are, I managed to resist trying to bring one home as my two are quite enough of a handful :) That said, the boys did me proud and were impeccably behaved all afternoon :) (Climbing on the seats at the cafe we had lunch in does not in itself count as bad behaviour in my book!) Ben and mama were even both lucky enough to get new sunhats! And we had hot fresh donuts on the beach, while we watched the littlies throwing stones into the sea. Yum. (The stone - I spotted it on the beach, I've heard of these stones with little messages on them being left lying around! Amazed that I spotted one. Spent the rest of the afternoon trying to find another but didn't see any!)

Train home again and then fire lit, Charley stripped to the waist to kick around a bit, nappies on to wash, chips cut and cooking, easter egg broken into (and demolished), happy tired boys to bed.

A lovely relaxed day. Happy times.

Have to mention the parcel that arrived on Wednesday! The boys' gran and grandad sent them easter presents and Ben enjoyed opening them for all of us. He was excited by his, as well as chocolate there was a packet of seeds to grow butterfly-attracting plants and a very cool egg cup! We'll be planting the seeds tomorrow afternoon before we head up to Manchester, so that hopefully by the time we come back on Friday they won't take so long to start sprouting ;-)
