Big Bend National Park

This weekend I attended a friend's wedding close to Big Bend National Park . Big Bend is located in West Texas, right at the border to Mexico (you actually have to go through border patrol on your way back from the park!).

The town where the wedding was held was just outside of the park (about 1 h drive), and thus about an 8 h drive away from where I live.
Needless to say, it was quite a trip, going out there on Friday and returning Sunday. But it was well worth it.

The wedding was wonderful - the couple had put so much effort into it, it was just incredible. Everyone had a great time.

Saturday, we got a chance to drive into the park to go on a hike, where this picture was taken.
The park is quite nice with lots of hiking opportunities. Just beware of the rattlesnakes!
