Grizzly Flowers

I slept in past sunrise.
and arose when the mood struck.
As I opened the blinds of the patio door
to bright sunshine and blue skies
I noticed these small flowers blooming
on my grizzly prickly pear cactus.
Putting on my sandals and grabbing my camera
I first stood awestruck at their beauty.
So delicate and fine,
the petals were almost translucent in the
morning sunshine.
