Heading North

We have arrived in North Yorkshire. Yippee!!!! Phase One of Operation Get Married is complete! It was a long journey for the most part in torrential rain but we've made it!
We had vague plans to leave before lunch, stop somewhere on the way and make a bit of a day of it. We didn't actually make it out of the house until after 4.30pm! Having packed pretty much everything we own....
We did have a bit of drama on the way up. Just as we reached the M1 I suddenly had a thought and casually asked Mr K if he'd brought any ID in case the Registrar needed it. "Er, no. Do you think I'll need it?" This is the man who habitually carries his passport with him "just in case". Just in case of what? Someone whisking you off on a surprise holiday?!!!!
At this point we're 40 minutes from home, about five hours later than we planned to be and in a car full of whining hungry children. The idea of driving home was very unappealing!
But not as unappealing as driving home from North Yorkshire if it turned out we needed it.... What a dilemma!
Google proved inconclusive so I turned to Blip. I suddenly had a flash on inspiration and remembered that one of my favourite Blippers - the fabulous BradyBird - is a Deputy Registrar and who better to ask?!
We stopped at Services for a healthy nutritionally balanced meal yummy dinner of brie and bacon paninis with cappucinos and before we'd finished we got an email from Bradybird to say we didn't need id, woohoo!!!
Thank you Lucie, you're a star!!!!
So now we're here and it's starting to seem very real!
