7" singles, 45 rpm

Recordstore Day

Note to whippersnappers: This is how we listened to music in the olden days. Each tune was recorded on a vinyl "disc" called a "single". They soon became personalised, and you got used to listening to your favourite song with a "jump" in the third line of the second chorus...so much so, that it didn't sound right on the radio without the jump.
To purchase them, you got off your fat arse and went "up town" to the "record shop" where a spotty wastrel would look down his nose at your choice of listening from behind the counter. I think my first ever purchase was Seven Seas of Rye by Queen.
