Here is Betsy getting some coaching from Head Coach Caroline Champion - she has the perfect name. She also signs all her emails, 'Yours in Sport'. She is (according to Betsy) a great coach and seems to me to be a really lovely person, so proud of all the girls and pushing them to do their best.

This morning Betsy had the first of two trials for a place in the Great Britain Softball Under 13's team. She got picked as a reserve last year, she was only 10, she did so well. There is another trial in two weeks.

After the trials finished, she looked wiped out. She hoovered up a load of food and then I made her lie down in the car. She only had a 45 minute break and then had to go back for a three hour Academy training session.

I must have done about 22 miles of crochet whilst I was waiting for her. The Academy is in Milton Keynes.

Betsy and Al are staying at my Mum's tonight. Chris is getting a bit nervous about the Marathon tomorrow.
