Reptile identification day

No sign of LH this morning - the hutch is empty so we hope she is enjoying freedom in our garden.

I attended a Reptile and Amphibian identification day organised by the North Pennines AONB (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty). It was based in Lambley in the South Tyne Valley with lectures in the village hall interspersed with field work. We managed to mainly dodge the showers and my new wellies were invaluable as we plodged around the boggy ground and a couple of ponds.

We saw frogs and newts outdoors, but today's blip is of a (temporarily) captive slow worm. Better large.

Now I just need to see if I can identify some of these myself.
