Malvern Hills

Best viewed large.

I love this landscape that changes so radically every few months. Last season's crops have been cleared away and new crops sown. The slope in the foreground is part of the checked hill I blipped last week. Mount Torlesse is in the background.

I took this in the late afternoon, looking west, a little north of the low sun. It was quite warm up there, with a light breeze that blew strands of gossamer among the dead grass heads. There were the usual paradise shelducks, a hawk, and a few magpies. In the distance I could see a huge flock of several hundred small birds, possibly redpoles. The dominant sound was the sweet song of the grey warbler.
