Living Next Door to Alice

Well not any more we don't, but we used to, in our old neighbourhood.

Alice had a great garden, which bore more of a resemblence to an english garden with lots of trees, shrubs and flowers than your typical american large expanse of, er, grass. She had lovely mature shrubs that the HOA deemed "overgrown", much to our amusement!

When we moved, as well as packing up clumps of favourite perenniels from my own garden, I acquired a clump of Alice's irises. Since then they have been divided and subdivided and I now have a garden full of them.
