we've been observing your earth

8:30am.

Not sure the rules on repeating a blip title, but there's not much else I can do.

This imposing and suspiciously unadorned object was resting at Haymarket this morning as I came out of the station and headed towards work. The easterly wind and Mrs theWeir working a dayshift meaning a later-than-usual leaving-the-house-time and a short train ride into the capital city.

I have no idea what it is. Unless it's the home of the things that had been observing our planet. Unlikely.

You got any ideas? It's not blue enough for a Dr Who-related thing. It's not cuboid enough to be a monolith. It's not late/incomplete enough to be tram-related. Unless the lack of labelling is a tribute to the lack of working trams.

Anyway...

Today was significantly better than a week ago. Grateful.

Brother-in-law's birthday celebrated with a family meal (minus Mrs theWeir) and the finished, and beautifully decorated cakes made yesterday were received with gratitude.

If you ever wondered why people pray, this may help.
