A time for everything

Music Hall

Saturday
An unexciting day today. The weather was cold and wet, and Roger had an on-going problem at work, so, although he was at home, he had to stay close to the phone and his computer all day. I spent some time on the computer and did some housework in the morning, then went off to the "Y" in the afternoon to swim. In the evening we went out to a Cincinnati Symphony concert at Music Hall. Exciting times are coming up for both the Symphony and the building. Having been without a resident director since 2011, when Paavo Jarvi left, the CSO announced their new director this week. French-born Louis Langree will take up the position beginning with the 2013-14 season - he is currently starting his 10th season of the Mostly Mozart Festival at the Lincoln Center in New York. Then at the end of that season, in the Spring of 2014, work will begin on a huge renovation project of the 165 year old Music Hall.
