Waterfoot Sunrise

Network Carradale

Most of today has been spent doing all the things I mentioned yesterday that take up your day when you are retired. In the morning it was work that required to be done at the Heritage Centre to keep it watertight and serviceable. This again involved cutting back Rhododendron bushes and clearing out chocked drains.

The Heritage Centre is part of Network Carradale, a community business that seeks to promote business initiatives in the area, along with the adjacent tearoom. There are also initiatives being progressed to redevelop the harbour and set up a mountain bike hire business.

Network Carradale was established in 1995 and when the Heritage Centre was developed in 1999 a number of murals depicting life in Carradle were painted by local school children and put on display outside the Heritage Centre. There are 4 murals, each about 1 metre by 2 metres in size, with the one blipped depicting farming and some of the leisure pursuits available in the area. Unfortunately, the murals have not weathered well and have to be removed. I was asked to photograph them for posterity and decided I would blip this panel as I liked the cheery colours.

Beautiful day with a Woodpecker and Cuckoo both being heard!
