Saturday night and a wee trundle down the road to Berwick upon Tweed for some Speedway action (once you've got the bug, you've got the bug!

This was the return match, after Edinburgh beat Berwick 59-33 on Friday, a fair few Monarchs fans but not myself I might add predicted a similar fate would befall Edinburgh when they travelled south.

How wrong could they have been!

After a thrilling evenings racing it was tied 42-42 after 14 heats, so it was all resting on the fifteenth and final heat!

All four riders lined up at the tapes, engines revving, exhausts roaring, watching, waiting, for the green light.

Green light, tapes up, GO!

All four riders race to the first bend!

Red flags out! Race stopped due to an unsatisfactory start (referees decision)

All four riders back for a restart.

And then what do you think happens?

Another false start!

So, third time lucky?

Yes but not for us, as Bandits steal into 1st and 3rd place, to take 4 points, leaving only one of our guys to take 2nd and 2 points.

In speedway you get nowt for 4th place.

Bandits win but only just!

Monarchs are gutted to have been pipped but they put up a tremendous fight.

Our 'Magnificent Seven' will ride again and Bandits, they'll be gunning for you!
