First Flying Goose

The morning started with a nice walk up through the castle grounds not a public right of way but one which we are privileged to be allowed to use. I met a neighbour and had a good chat about turning the dial off Auto, something she hasn't done much of (yet!), though she takes a lot of photos and spends hours in PS. We must go out together one day with the cameras.

So much to choose from today: waterfall shots and wild flowers. In the end, my journal choice had to be one of a selection of flying geese shots. I've never caught one in flight before so to get a dozen or so to choose from was new to me. When we recently went on a Raptor Photography day we had the right lenses on, the correct settings applied, burst, tracking focus etc, and someone flying the birds over and over again. Today the only warning we had was a couple of honks before the pair of greylags flew overhead and circled around us so no time to prepare. Life's like that, not always time to prepare! Today we remember Amalarian on the anniversary of her last blip, not knowing it would be so and not knowing how much she would be missed by the community.

This afternoon I managed to make a decision about which images to use for two lovely hand-made frames. These are two which I've never seen printed, but spurred on by you good folks I chose:
Once More With Ducks which got 165 stars and 8 hearts from you and
Down To The Lake With Kat with 60 stars and 10 hearts.
