What did I see today...?

Sprung Again

Busy day today, lots of work to get through, a rounders match, a massive Blip catch up (comments made, back-Blips completed, all done!) and some D&Ding with the guys.

The forecast for today was very hopeful this morning - early rain (which had stopped by the time I cycled in) with grey clouds but mild temperatures for the rest of the day. Then Em from work walked into town with sunglasses on at lunch and the weather gods turned on us - total downpour for two hours! Nonetheless the Zoology rounders match wasn't called off (one of the only ones that wasn't) and, with friends from the CA, Indpendents and CIE teams as well, we headed out to face our adversaries of the week: Cambridge University Press!

All two of them... that didn't go to plan so much, especially as I was going to give Steph, Dexter's owner, her keys back, my cat-sitting duties currently fulfilled, but she wasn't one of the two who turned up! Still, at least by the time we did the weather had improved and the sun was offering enough light to brighten the trees around us (today's Blip!)

So with plenty of people but no whole teams we split in two and had a decent match. Somehow I ended up captaining one team with three proper captains on the other and a fun, often ridiculously silly match, ended 12-13 (from my point of view) with some good catches, awesome slides in the mud and no more worries from my thumb (strapped and wrapped in any case!). Hopefully we'll get something equally good in all games, and a proper match with the CUP folks in the future.

Post-match it was time for a swift pint in the Maypole before heading over to Stu's for pizza, beer and D&D. We're picking this up from a year ago roughly, with me and Stef moving, Stu and Ad both getting married and us all being generally busy it's been a while, we started the session with the confusion of a night assault on the town we were last in (a year on we have a shop and I run a forge... cool!). Not a lot of the assault has happened, but thus far Ads and myself have taking out seven orcs between us and Stef, with his fantastic health of 1 point (a pigeon flying too high and relieving itself could maim him....), also managed to bludgeon one with a stick. Added bonus, I didn't get shot in the backside (again) by any of my allies! More of that to come next week as well :-D

Well I think that's enough rounders and geekery for normal folks - here's the back-Blip round-up:
Cat-Sitting - involving a sitting cat.
Breakthrough - a rare (at the moment) Sunday sunset.
Albert - the new toy's first Blip!
GreyWatch - atmospheric skies.
Splat! - a flattened emergency Blip!
