Midday down at the lake

I walked down the hill to this lake. The ice looked fairly thick and I crossed over to a small island.  Where I crossed the ice the water was only about 30 cm deep so I wasn't exactly risking life and limb.
I guess you could call this a sunset photo because it is definitely on the way down. The time is 12:55!
Someone had been skating on the ice and as far as I could see the ice was thick and stable except by the inlet to the lake where the current keeps the water open.
Minus 7°C so it seems winter is definitely here.  Now we wait for the snow.
