Courting albatrosses

Today we finally headed out into the Camp on the second wave of FIGAS flights. That gave us time to visit the new Falklands museum in Stanley in the morning. It was well worth it, well laid out and very informative.
Our final destination was Saunders Island, but we made three stops en route and saw quite a bit of the West Falklands, calling in at Port Stephen, Dunnose Head and Hill Cove.
Despite our late arrival, we managed to head up to the rookery on a beautiful sunny afternoon. The light was gorgeous as we saw our first Albatrosses and Rockhopper Penguins at the rookery. The albatrosses were courting with lots of bill clacking and opening of bills, as you can see here.
