I WONDER.....

…….who had the most fun?  When we got to church this morning, we were invited to make a decoration that reminded us of our family and/or our ancestors.  James, the little one, was straight in and the glitter and paint flowed - then he decided it wasn’t enough just to paint onto his decoration, but he wanted to get his hands messy - well what is paint for?

His mum, Nikki, was fantastic and we had a chat about letting children get dirty and messy - and after all, most of the stuff washes off - and if it doesn’t then the splodges make a good memory!

Also in the collage is Stephen, on the left, who looks as if he is taking his decorating very seriously and Keith, who is always very “hands on” - his first grandchild is due in the New Year and I know he will make a fantastic Grandfather.

We had lots of visitors this morning and had a great “All Age” service, singing many of our favourite carols.  I had been asked to do the reading from Matthew 1 about the Genealogy of Jesus - so it fitted in well with thinking about our own family and ancestors.  Susan spoke very well and of course, we enjoyed coffee and chat afterwards.

All in all, a great time with our church family, and we are there again on Tuesday morning for a Christingle service - so looking forward to that - there could be lots more glitter and paint!

I found this great Youtube video of someone “singing and writing” The Genealogy - I did think about singing, but didn’t have enough time to practise!

Having somewhere to go is HOME
Having someone to love is FAMILY
Having both is a BLESSING.

Be blessed this week as you get ready for Christmas and -

May the joy of the angels,
the eagerness of the shepherds,
the perseverance of the wise men,
the obedience of Joseph and Mary,
and the peace of the Christ Child
be yours this Christmas.
