Soul.

I only just managed to peel myself out of bed at a reasonable hour this morning, but when I finally got to work I had a productive day (with a small amount of excitement when my boss suggested sending me to Houston for a little while to help with a new contract we're contending for... Unfortunately they were looking for someone with a little more experience, but I was delighted he asked!).

When I got home, M was making a delicious-smelling curry, which tasted even better than it looked! I had convinced M to take me to the cinema tonight to see the Jo Nesbø film, Hodejegerne (Headhunters). I read the book a couple of months ago and thoroughly enjoyed it, and the film didn't disappoint. I'd have to say that the book was far more subtle in the intricacies that tied the story together, but without the film lasting 4 hours, there was no way they could have done better. I think M really enjoyed it too; despite not reading the book.

On our way home, I realised I didn't have a Blip for today, so I took a quick picture of Soul Bar; one of Aberdeen's prettiest bars in my opinion. In a previous life it was a church, but these days it brings in card players for the casino and cocktail-drinkers for the bar. M was making me laugh as we got home, teaching me Scottish sayings such as: "You'd make a better door than a window!" and "That shop must have had big windows, because they saw you coming!" (That one was a little below the belt; I'd seen a lovely lamp in the window of one of the shops on the way home... Unfortunately it's price tag was £230.00...). Laughing, eating good food and an excellent film... Lovely evening.
