Christmas Carols

There was a special Christmas Farmers’ Market this afternoon.  It was held in its usual venue, the A and P Park and was well attended by busy Christmas shoppers.  The festive atmosphere was enhanced by members of the Salvation Army Band who were playing Christmas carols.  The leader of the band was multi-tasking.  He was playing a cornet with one hand and conducting the band with the other.  The crowd enjoyed the music and happily sang along with them.
Talking of music, we are saddened to learn of the death of Joe Cocker today.  I loved his gravelly voice and his great personality.  My favourite of his songs just has to be “Up Where We Belong” sung with Jennifer Warnes.  It is absolutely magical.
Take care my Blip Friends….  in this last minute rush to prepare for Christmas.
