Blue Loo in Summer

There was hardly any time at all today for a relaxing walk with the dogs. It was all go from before 5.am. The dogs seemed to know I was in a hurry and rolled in something nasty and smelly during the walk. Thus they both needed to go swimming in the river to get the worst off. Once home they then had to be shampooed. At least my offspring will not be able to accuse them of smelling too doggy.
I have been busy all day getting ready to go to Wellington for Christmas. K and I are travelling on the Arahura, the Interislander ferry from Picton to Wellington. There we will stay with daughter M, son-in-law, S and Emily, the one and only grandchild.
Our sons are coming over from Nelson to house-sit and take care of the animals. Molly the Maine Coon is a bit shy of visitors. She is aware of D’s van in the garden and we have seen nothing of her all day. It is hoped she will turn up when she is hungry this evening.
Today’s blip is an image of my favourite stopping place on the upper Taylor River tracks…the blue loo. It looks totally different at this time of the year with the lush grapevines and the fully leafed trees….
