Nicky and her Nikon

Where's my bone?

Murdoch is very pleased with his Christmas decoration but wants to know where is his bone? Personally I don't think he will manage such a large bone but he is being pretty big headed about it! (groans about the weak joke...)

Adam was up at 5.45am this morning to meet his driving instructor in Weybridge at 6.45am for a quick practice session before he took his driving test at 8.10am. These are all unnatural times for Adam, whose teenage body clock is about 5 hours behind these times. He was more than ready for his test, he had a mock test on Friday with his driving instructor and passed with flying colours…but today, everything went well until right at the end of the test another driver cut into his lane as they were approaching a roundabout and as Adam did not check all his mirrors so consequently he failed the test. Adam was so disappointed but …onwards and upwards…I have re-booked for February, the soonest possible booking that we could get. Adam was so frustrated when he got home, he walked in, sat down at the piano and vigorously attacked Beethoven’s 3rd movement from the Moonlight Sonata, as you do!

Luke brought home the most delicious tea from France. It is made by Lipton and is called Thé Or (Gold tea) but unfortunately is not available in the UK despite Lipton being a UK based company (well, Scottish actually). He also brought a box of Russian earl grey, a delicious earl grey with a hint of citrus, and that too is unavailable here. However, I can buy it through Amazon France so I may just put in an order after Christmas. If you are ever in France I recommend you try these teas!

I ordered some goodies from the best supermarket in South Africa to make up my own Christmas hamper for the grandmothers there. Today I received an email from them saying they could not deliver as promised due to ‘load shedding’. South Africa is having frequent and ongoing power cuts which is now severely affecting their economy. So that old joke about ‘will the last person to leave the country please switch off the lights’ won’t even work anymore, there are no lights.

Not sure the link is working, so the first paragraph won't make sense if it isn't.
