Christening

Olivia was a star today, and why not - it was her party.  We all managed to get to Canongate Kirk in time for the 11.15 start.  It was the service of lessons and carols with a short extract of the Nativity.  Very suitable for a mixed crowd and a baptism. Olivia never cried at all in the church, was mesmerised by the singing (especially loud Granny in the pew behind her) and was asleep when her big moment came.  Perfect!

Then back to Granny's, all 26 of us, for lots and lots of fizz and piles of snacky food and cake.  No real food at all today but thanks M&S for what we did have.

People didn't stay too late and then there were a couple of stragglers, driving home for Christmas, who came after 6.

All in all a good day.  Olivia carried on the family tradition of wearing the family christening robe, worn by me, her great aunt, her dad and both her uncles.  The one regret, I didn't manage to capture Olivia and all 4 Wens.  the first time they've been together for ages - here from KL, London, Barcelona and Perth, WA.  Wow, an eclectic gathering.  But i did get the parents and godparents.

An unforgettable day.
