Some last-minute Christmas shopping this morning, then a walk late afternoon at Wigg Island, a nature reserve lying between the River Mersey and the Manchester Ship Canal near Runcorn. There was quite a bit of bird life to be seen, as well as the early stages of work on the Mersey Gateway project, a new six-lane toll bridge. In the evening we all went out to eat. One of the waiters kindly offered to take a picture of all of us. We realized we had a bit of a purple/lilac theme going on!
