A time for everything

View from Helsby Hill

Wednesday
I was wanting to buy some wool while were over in England, and through Google I found a place out in the country just about 15 minutes up the motorway. Laura came as well, as she wanted to buy some wool to send to one of her Peace Corps friends who is a very keen knitter. We actually had some sun today, so it was a lovely drive, and the shop had a wonderful selection of wool and cross- stitch kits. After lunch the three of us went for a walk up Helsby Hill, which affords a great view over the Mersey across to Liverpool. We left Janet and John hard at work in the kitchen making preparations for the evening meal and Christmas Day dinner. It was a lovely walk in golden late afternoon light, passing fields with cows and fields with horses and a farmyard pond with a number of ducks and geese. Late at night we went out to a midnight communion service at church - a lovely way to see in Christmas Day.
