Art in Bark

The dog and I visited the Taylor Dam again this morning.  We walked along the bottom and then the top of the dam.  Having finished that section we followed tracks around the lake itself, the park-like area to the south and then back to the lakeside area.  There were a number of campervans parked up near the water and at a designated campervan area.  The Council allows self-contained campervans to spend two nights in the reserve.  It is a wonderful place to camp in, with the views and birdlife to see.
Two friends of mine were sitting in a special spot by the lake and had set themselves up for a morning of landscape painting using oils.  Fergus thought the smell of the oils was most interesting. 
There are a number of huge poplar trees in the reserve.  They are “Eastern Cottonwoods” aka Populis Deltoides.  I am fascinated by the intricate patterns of the bark of these trees.  Each is very different from the other and they are a real work of art.  I took time to choose one for my blip today… Art in Bark.
