'Bella in Hosier'

A much nicer day yesterday with some cooling overnight showers and mid 20's temperatures.

We spent most of the day at home sorting out computer files, arranging backups, transferring files and general computer housekeeping. Always nice to have all of your files in order for the start of a new year.

This afternoon we met up with our UK blip friends CharlotteJ & ChrisC for their last night in Melbourne before heading home tomorrow.

We walked from their hotel in St.Kilda Road, through the Botanical Gardens and along the Yarra River to Southgate where we stopped for Boost Juices. After a short break we crossed the Yarra on the pedestrian bridge, walked underneath Flinders Street station and headed east along Flinders Street until we reached Hosier Lane. Walked around there and looked at the artwork for 15 mins or so and then headed over to Federation Square to have dinner.

I have never see Melbourne more deserted than what it was last night. I'd say that firstly because it was a Sunday night, secondly, most people will be heading back to work tomorrow and thirdly, it's the middle of school holidays and there are many people still away on holidays.

We had a lovely meal and a good laugh with our new friends before walking back down St.Kilda Road to their Hotel. It was getting quite late by now and Bella fell asleep in my arms while carrying her back to the car.

We've made some really great friends and hopefully we'll be catching up again with them one day either back here or over in the UK.

There's still one thing that hasn't changed in blip and that's the wonderful community, the people that make it what it is.
