Wie(n) Schön

Our little trip took us to the rather fabulous city of Vienna, or Wien as it is properly called.

Hands up if you know there was a little river called "die Wien" that runs through the city?  No, well it was news to me too.

We arrived at about 2:30 and because Wien is quite so far east, it means the light goes just before 4.  So we scooted to our hotel and then headed out to see what we could see before it got dark.

First impressions were amazing. 

I thought München was awesome, Wien knocks that into a cocked hat. 

Wien is Magnificent.

The title for today is a little play on words - you say "wie schön" when something is quite pretty.  I'm sure it's been done to death and I am not the first to have thought of it.
