Klimt's Death & Life

The weather went all wintery on us today and so we hopped from the hotel to the Leopold Museum and spent a good couple of hours walking round and talking about paintings.

Then we scooted to the Palmenhaus for a Melange (a very Austrian coffee) and then spent the afternoon looking at all sorts of awesomeness in the Natural History Museum.

The museum is a cracker.  The building itself is worth a visit - beautifully decorated.  And the exhibits are great too - from a bouquet made of gems to mammoths.  Having said that, because it was rotten weather and children get in for free, it was mobbed.

I would have really enjoyed a seat in the very, very elegant cafe but there was no chance of that.

We ate in a very good restaurant - die Fromme Helene - where we saw some of the largest Schnitzels we've ever seen.  Portions in Austria are even bigger than in Germany.
