Look out, low flying swans!

There was a predicted high tide in sunny Southport today, so once we were up and about, we decided we felt well enough to venture out!

When we first got there the skies were dark, blowing a fair bit cold and it started to rain........so not impressed!
For once the weather forecasters did have it right and it blew over quickly, and then followed clear blue skies!

I took lots of shots of the pier as the tide was indeed in up to the sea wall, which is most unusual for Southport. As it began to recede the wildlife flocked onto the marshland and created quite a spectacle.......but as we walked up to the Marshlands site on the other side of the coastal road, timing it almost perfectly, I spotted three swans take off simultaneously and head straight for us, directly down my lense. I was hoping the head on shots would be the ones, but they didn't show the swans off, their long necks were non existent, hence I opted for this side view.

The long walk in the blowy fresh air has cleared our heads, so much so that we are going out again this evening, to our pub quiz! Think it's safe to say we are on the mend, yay!!!
