Heizkraftwerk

Combined heat and power station

The chimneys are 130 metres high, which makes Heizkraftwerk Nord the dominant building in Munich's north-east and the 4th highest structure in Munich overall. It is fired by waste and coal.

The building in the centre is the so called Pharao-Haus, a 58 metres high tenement with 400 apartments in the shape of an Egyptian pyramid.

Finally, the illuminated highrise to the right is the 100 metres high headquarters of the Süddeutsche Zeitung newspaper, one of Germany's most important papers. Seems those guys were still busy (or forgot to switch off the lights).

And of course the Alps in the background.
