The Day After

We all had a good sleep in our room without a view!  We met Uncle R and Cousin C in the associated Little Chef for breakfast.  TT and I have a long-standing joke about LC with another friend, so TT was very keen to go and have an Olympic breakfast.  TT and Uncle R both ordered said breakfasts with extras!  The rest of us were much more restrained in our choices.  The thing that amazed me most was that they cleared their plates in record time. Gold medals all round for that kind of Olympic endeavour.

We all then descended on grandma and granddad.  Granddad hadn’t really recovered from yesterday’s party, but they were both pleased to see us.  BB did some of his reading homework with his cousin C.  It was lovely to watch before they had to depart for their long drive south.  As the rain had almost gone off, TT and I dragged BB out for a walk by the river.  He wasn’t very keen, but we all needed a bit of exercise and fresh air.

After a late lunch/ early tea, we departed for what turned out to be quite a slow drive home.  BB then had to finish his reading and do some cello practice.  After he was in bed I sat down to watch Last Tango in Halifax.  TT joined me, but gave up after about twenty minutes when the overly complicated lives of the characters got far too much for him.  He went in search of whisky!

Here is a view of the River Swale.  I love the row of houses on the hill.  They  are located on Maison Dieu and have the most wonderful view.
