A stitch in time ...

There is a wonderful establishment in Ayr where I take clothes to be altered. From leather jackets to velvet jeans - the brothers who own it never bat an eyelid. They don't give advice - the first time I went I asked one of them "What do you think?"
"I do not think," he said, solemnly.

Today it was hiking trousers with poppers on the ankles. Too long, too complicated for me. They will be ready tomorrow. Meanwhile, this is their thread bank, all along the bench where they sew.
