Gull in the gloom

It was a beautiful sunny morning - and I spent most of it proof-reading! But at last the biggest report of the year has been completed and sent to the client - and the accounts will be finished tomorrow.

As a reward for my hard work I went for a walk round Ferry Meadows in the afternoon, but by this time high cloud had swept in from the west and the wind was brisk and icy. This black-headed gull had spotted some duck food that had been dropped on the pontoon bridge, and swooped down to pick it up, emitting a raucous shriek as it landed, perhaps warning the other gulls to stay away.
