Capital adventures

More later.

Later - worked at home today but didn't manage to do all the things I needed to do.  Still in a morass about the Lottery.

I'd hoped to get away at 4, but it was after 5.  The nights are fair drawing out though - there was still light in the sky.  Then I had to make a slight detour to buy some 'even cheaper' petrol.

And then, well it took 3 hours to do 55 miles.  First there was a hold up due to an accident at Livingston and then it started to snow.  Little flurries and then by the time I reached Eurocentral big, swirling flakes.

It is a circuitous route to Y's = M8, M73, M74.  And it got worse and worse.  Stopped to blip as we crawled up the slip to get on to the M73 which was one long traffic queue. And not a gritter or plough in sight.  At least people were driving safely, 20 mph and loads of distance.

It didn't get any better going through Rutherglen (note to self, next time it is junction 1A) and then I had to take a detour round Hampden to avoid the big hill.

Eventually I got there, tired and very hungry but parking in the drive was not an option.  The Inverurie crowd were even later.  It took them 5 and a half hours.

And so eventually with the crowd all gathered we drank and ate and drank and chatted.  Good to be back together.  That's what friends are for.
