A Lonely Swan

Musical beds last night.  BB ended up sleeping with me and TT was in BB’s bed.  In all this the stair light was left on so when BB awoke he thought it was morning and that TT was up.  Wrong!  However he then crawled in beside TT till it was morning.  BB was still first up and all I heard was daddy there’s snow and great excitement.  There wasn't much snow and it has almost all gone now.

We have had another quiet day.  The boys went to church and I did a few chores.  After lunch we went for a walk around by Preston Mill and Smeaton Lake, admiring the emerging snowdrops and the frozen lake, ending up in the Smeaton Nursery tea room.   We had some lovely cake (me), a delicious scone (TT) and a glorious hot chocolate (BB) while we watched the birds coming to the bird feeders.  We purchased a new bird feeder on the way out to try and attract more birds to our garden.  It would be nice to see birds apart from pigeons and magpies.

This swan was swimming on the mill pond at Preston Mill.  I think he was lonely and probably looking for food, as he seemed very keen to see us!
