Chilly

When I awoke today and first looked out, I thought there was a very heavy frost, but in fact we had had a few millimetres of snow during the night.  I took this picture of the ice on our pond partly covered with snow at about 1030 hours this morning and the pond appeared exactly the same at 1600 hours this evening.  The temperature never rose above zero all day, but then we live in a frost hollow; all around us the snow had gone.

Today all of our rear doors were fitted to the conservatory and the window hole was temporarily blanked off, as we are now sealed off from the elements, we have installed a fan heater into this area to help dry out all of the woodwork, brickwork etc..  The house is already perceptively warmer, so we are very pleased with the progress, especially with today’s snow and a zero C temperature outside.
