small world

Another cold, calm, dry day. Ideal January weather.

I was driving back from Burntisland after lunch and saw this ship moving upriver towards Rosyth. DFDS runs a regular service to Zeebrugge for road freight.

I've Blipped the ship before. She's Lithuanian registered and her home port is Klaipeda.

Yesterday I booked a week long trip to Lithuania for the end of May - Vilnius, not Klaipeda, but still. I spent a lot of time working in Lithuania in the 90s.

Coincidence for the ship to pop up today just as I was driving by. One of the big bits of work I was involved in back then was privatisation of the Lithuanian shipping fleet. DFDS bought it eventually, and that's how DFDS ended up with this Lithuanian ship.
