A Day Worth Recording

Continuing the 80th birthday weekend, A joined us at Meeting this morning and was surprised to receive a card from the Meeting, a cake (iced this time by son S) and a rendition of Happy Birthday in a wide selection of keys.

(Unlike, say, Methodists who are known for their singing, Quakers are more known for their not singing. There may be good reason...)

In the afternoon we visited local-ish sculptor Laurence Broderick whose studio is open this week. Best known for his otters in bronze and stone, there were other subjects on display including this lively salmon in the garden.

Somewhat irritatingly I'd forgotten my camera, so this is from my phone - actually I'm pleasantly surprised.
