After a good night's sleep and a chatty breakfast it was off to York.  Much milder today, and the sun was shining. We strolled through the Museum Gardens and chatted to the guy doing the RSPB Birdwatch.  turned out he came originally from Marchmont.  Small world.

We stravaiged through the Shambles and I did some shopping and then lunch in Browns before back to the station so I could get my train home.

It was such a pleasant day.  Iris has been in York for 40+ years but has never lost her Edinburgh accent.  I wish I'd known this family earlier.

The train was very quiet so I got a bit of a rest and arrived home (cold!) as #2 son was going out.  So a quiet evening in, with practically no tv.
