Taken today at Slimbridge Wildlife and Wetlands Trust, this not-so-little robin has either eaten all the pies* or is fluffed up against the cold... or perhaps is massively full of eggs. He, or she, was very happy to perch on a low branch to watch the wetland visitors wander past. Or possibly was so fat flight was impossible...

* ok, probably not pies. Slimbridge is a nationally recognised wetlands wildlife reserve, and the staff put out wheelbarrowfulls of grain each day for the overwintering birds. It may be you've never seen a truly fat pigeon until you come to Slimbridge.
